Holistic is more of an approach than a treatment. Holistic means you focus on your entire whole being. Included is your mental and spiritual wellness. It is more of a lifestyle and bringing balancing into your life than it is being more of a hypochondriac.
When you focus on your health and your lifestyle holistically, you begin to discover the benefits. These include:
- Quicker relief for pain
- Improved overall general health
- Understanding the need and benefits of a well-balanced lifestyle
- Aware of keeping the environment safe and healthy
- Use of more natural resources – herbs and medicines
- Use of more natural methods to cure illnesses such as proper nutrition, exercise, detoxification, and other natural non-invasive treatments
Basically, when you are living your life holistically, you are giving your life permission to be in alignment. Think of an automobile that runs smoothly when the tires are balanced and the frontend is aligned. The same is true of your life. It is up to you to make sure there is alignment. And, the way is through holistic attention.
One of the best ways to begin alignment is to give attention to the music you listen to. If you don’t listen to music, you should. Music has a massive effect on our mood. When you coordinate the music you listen to with the mood you would like to be in, you start to train your brain to engage in positive (or mellow) vibes as needed.
Music therapy has been used by neurologists for decades as a way to treat conditions associated with Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, strokes, and depression. With advanced neuro-imaging, researchers can now reveal that music therapy can help restore the loss of expressive language and improve movements and speech. Playing and listening to music requires coordinating muscle movements and developing an ear for timing.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation has found that music is extremely powerful. The sound of music alone moves us physically and emotionally, often transporting us to a previous place and time. When you hear a certain type of music often your foot begins to tap, you being to hum, and in your mind you are singing along with the melody.
Every person has rhythm and it is rhythm that produces holistic alignment. Make music a part of your daily life. When you exercise, work around the house, or meditate, have a playlist ready.
And, throughout your day remind yourself this is “My Moment to Succeed.”
